PGR Ride to Honor The 4 Fallen LEO's from Lakewood PD

Below is some info that I received through the Headless Horsemen riding group (Ichabod Caine, the Waking Crew DJ from KMPS started up the Headless Horsemen). I won't be able to make this one as I have some volunteer duties at church that require me to be there, but I'm working on changing up my schedule to allow me to be at the ride. Here is the info:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard, Supporting Clubs and all proud Americans:

We have been invited to help honor the 4 Lakewood Officers who died in the line of duty on Sunday, November 28, 2009. We will be attending the Memorial Service on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. We know that many of you cannot make Tuesday’s memorial but still want to show your respect for the Lakewood Police Department and, especially, the four fallen Lakewood Police Officers.

This event will be different. This is going to be a memorial ride in their Honor.

SCHEDULE:
0730 hrs - Ride Captains & members arrive
0740 hrs - Briefing
0750 hrs - KSU from Eagle Leather
0805 hrs - Arrive at Forza Coffee on Steele Street
0814 - 0816 hrs - Perform a Bikers Salute (Loud Pipes)
0816 - 0820 hrs - 4 minutes of Silence, Absolute Silence
0830 hrs - KSU for Lakewood Police

RIDE CAPTAINS:
Primary - Iso, Northwest District Captain
Secondary - Conan

Plan is to ride to Lakewood Police Department on Bridgeport Way
- Wrap the pipes as we pass
- Turn around
- Wrap the pipes as we pass again
- We will not stop at Lakewood Police Department
- Ride to Forza Coffee on Bridgeport Way.

Once at Forza, we will just relax and talk. We will enjoy each other’s
company.
-We will be taking a collection at Eagle Leather to donate to the Families.
- We will be riding slow enough for you to ride with your large flags on
your bikes.

Weather on Sunday 12/06/09: Cold (upper 30’s) and Dry. Dress Warm !!!

Yes there is a ride and flag line for tuesday 8th, the finial plans are not set yet. This is what I have gotton so far.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to provide a flag line at
the Memorial for our 4 Lakewood PD officers:

• Sergeant Mark Renninger

• Officer Ronald Owen

• Officer Tina Griswold

• Officer Greg Richards

The memorial will be held Tuesday, 8 Dec, at the Tacoma Dome. The
memorial itself will begin at 1 pm. Actual staging information and
times will be sent out shortly. we are currently awaiting some
additional information to finalize our plans. My intention with this
announcement it to get word our early so those that wish to can set
aside the day.

Myself (Bluelight), Jim "Bikervet" Dickson, and Kris "Daylight" Langley
are the Ride Captains for this mission.

Personally I would like to thank the Patriot Guard Riders for their
support. I have received many messages from our membership nationwide
and they have been forwarded to Lakewood PD. You may consider visiting

information about these officers and the avenue to contribute to the
families.

I heard on the news tonight that the procession will start at Ft Lewis or McChord at 10 am, so I anticipate staging at 9:30, but I have had no official news of that yet.

Also, in case you didn't get the email, all PGR in WA have been asked by Bluelight to add a black band to your PGR armband to indicate our mourning and our support.

The staging will be at 8:45 near the Dome. There are rides coming in from all directions. If you have not gotten your official notification from BlueLight or BikerVet, Please give me an email @ debibloss@msn.com.

The Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 8 at the Tacoma
Dome. The service itself is scheduled to begin at 1300 hrs (1:00 PM),
but we will be staging, briefing, and establishing the flag line much
earlier than that as the procession will be leaving McChord AFB at
approximately 10:00 AM, with the first vehicles scheduled to arrive at
the Dome at approximately 10:30 AM. For several reasons, this will be a
lengthy mission plan, so please read it closely and completely in order
to avoid missing important details.

* MAIN MISSION *

MISSION DATE:
Tuesday, December 8, 2009

STAGING LOCATION:
314 E. 26th St.
Tacoma, WA
- The business sign on the street reads "Edge Technologies". There will
be RC's present designated as "Parking Officers". Please follow their
instructions for parking.
- Secondary Parking - Parking Lot next to 409 E. 26th Street, next to
"Katy's Antiques". This lot will be marked "Reserved for PGR". If you
are directed to this lot, again, follow the instructions of the "Parking
Officers" so we can take best advantage of available space.

SCHEDULE:
0845 hrs - Riders arrive
0900 to 0930 hrs - Parking & sign-in
0930 to 1000 hrs - Briefing
1010 hrs - Establish flag line.

This will be a long-duration flag line, and we will relieve individuals
on a regular basis to avoid fatigue or other problems. After breaking
down the flag line (time TBD), we will break for lunch (see below).
Following lunch, we will move the flag line up to the vicinity of the
"C" Entrance of the Dome (at approximately 1400 hrs) We will
re-establish the flag line at approximately 1430 hrs (TBD) in order to
be in place prior for completion of the service (est. 1500 hrs.).

Because of the forecast for Tuesday, we strongly advise everyone to
bring / wear warm clothing (in layers) and wear or bring cushion-soled
shoes suitable for standing for long periods on cold concrete. Warm
hats and gloves go without saying.

There is a small cafe called Friesenburgers at 308 E. 26th, directly in
front of primary staging, that is going to remain open for our benefit,
so hot food and beverages will be available for purchase all day.
Michael Goldman, the proprietor, supports our mission and is anxious to
serve us. He is also giving up most of his normal customer parking for us.

If you encounter a LEO road-block in the vicinity of the Dome (highly
likely), simply tell them you are PGR and part of the Honor Flag Line on
26th St.

SOUTH END NOTES:
We will plan one quick stop south of Chehalis (exit 72) to top off and
drain tanks and then we will make the final run to the Tacoma Dome for
the 0930 staging. This may be a fairly hazardous mission. Please be
aware of the weather forecast, high of 33 with a slight possibility of
snow at this point. Please be very careful, especially on overpasses,
metal expansion joints, and debris such as leaves and frost!!! And for
those hard headed souls, please listen to the still, small, voice....
mine will probably be yelling extra loud!!

TRANSPORTATION ACCORDINGLY!!!!"

If there is anyone that is sure they are going to cage, please contact
me (Dave "Dirt" Cox) as I will need to transport our flags north to help
