Today, I decided to change out the fuel pressure regulator on my 02 1800. After hooking everything back up and restarting, the fuel pump is decidedly noisier than before. Previously, upon turning the key, the pump would prime then shut off. Now, it primes and shuts off, BUT when I start the bike, it sounds like it's priming again and will not shut off. It runs fine, but is obviously not right and I'm afraid I'll end up burning it out. I could find nothing in the manual. Any ideas????
I married my youngest off last year  I'm 45 with a grand daughter almost the age of your son.
I worked on my first Fury for a VTX customer of mine. Pretty nice bike, rides and handles well. The FI 1300 will get up and move but doesn't have the bottom end of an 1800 :doorag:
well youngster, I'm 59 with an 8 , 20 , and 22 and lovin' it. except when my daughters gsxr breaks or my sons ford fails or the 8 year old decides to put the remote thru the flat screen. ahhh the pleasures of parenthood.
back to the whistle. bike runs awesome, just whistlin'. I thought I looked the fpr over closely and removed all extraneous plugs/caps. any quick check other than tank removal and fpr removal?
I'm new at this stuff so I've got a lot of questions... if the main hole had a plug in it {i removed one cap from the tube where the fuel line attaches to} wouldn't the plug stop any fuel from getting by thus rendering the motor inoperable due to lack of fuel? the fuel pump charges the system smoothly and shuts off within a couple seconds. the whistling is loudest at the air cleaner assembly.
There's a cap in both tubes/holes. If you only removed 1 cap, you still have one in there.
