Planning a trip to San Francisco.....need advice

Ok guys, we are planning a trip out that way for spring break(march 25-30).

Need advice on any must see places, places to eat, suggested areas to stay(area of town), etc.

It is me, my wife and 14 year old son.

Also if there is anything within a couple hours drive, as we will be renting a car.

Get a AAA book. Muir Woods is just outside Frisco. There are way too many great places in Frisco to eat. ChinaTown is a must for lunch or dinner. Real Chinese food there. Fishermans Wharf has a dozen great places to eat. Ghirardelli Square is a must-go-to, ebven if you're a diabetic.
