Picked one up sat afternoon and got installed when the rain let up that evening.

I was told it would be 2 times brighter than stock well it turns out it is about 3 times brighter than the silverstar i had been using.
May be an illusion due to being a much whiter light.

Install was less than half hour and well worth what i paid.
I even got an extra one i may pass on to a friend .

Yes bulb fits in the socket then a small fan unit screws on to the end of bulb.
There is a small box which will fit behind neck cover on the 1300

I currently have a HID headlight on mine but have been checking out the new LED's. Could you make a comparison between the LED and HID lights?

I've been thinking of going LED too, not sure if it will be better or worse but I think the power draw would be less and the bulb would last longer.

CharlieD...did you lose you hi beam or do you still have both. What wattage is it.

The LED bulb is 25 watts low and 25 high

It is way brighter than the old silverstar
I have never used a HID so can't respond on the difference.

There are an amazing variety and prices from $7 to $130.
Any clues as to which style will work?
There maybe a large variety but so far only the ones with a cooling fan are High Power
and suitable for road use. Some VTXers bought theirs in the spring/summer.

Leds on each side, distance from base is the difference between low and high.
The first ones looked like this:: http://www.dhresource.com/albu_370434396_00-1.0x0/10-set-h4-50w-cree-led-headlights-h4-high.jpg

Some later ones are looking more like this---still has a cooling fan:: http://www.purefjcruiser.com/images/h4-led-headlight-replacement.jpg

So if someone can help me get in touch with NDAna, for one of these lights, I would appreciate it. Evidently, I don't know how to search for anyone on this site yet. Thanks, Darrell.
