Sure was a good day for riding and sure was nice meeting up with ya'll. We need to start getting this board back like it was. Colleen had a smile on her face on the way home which means I got her bike set up pretty much how she likes it. You wouldn't believe what I have gone thru to get the seat handlebars and pegs in the right position for her. Swapped seats out twice, handlebars about 3 times, 4 if you count the risers, highway pegs a couple times and the windshield twice with the third time being a different height windshield for her batwing... But she was happy today which makes it all worth it. Lets do it again....

from helen, head down 17 back to 129. 129 past turners corner takes you up blood mountain to vogel state park. Turn left on 138 which shoots you across wolf pen gap into suches. Turn left on 60 and it will run you back into 129 heading into dahlonega and back south. That triangle is a BEAUTIFUL ride, and it has some of the best curves in north ga.

Hey Hans- If they were rining I couldn't hear it above my grandsons fighting(playing) with each other.
We were wondering what happened to you and remembered the last thread you started...Oil??? Heat shield???? Parts falling off!
( 2-7-2011 I saw it on the shoulder of hwy 81 last week when we went to Helen.
But I thought is was from a H-D so I kept going.)
Glad you are kicking!! I always give you a shout when I pass Bethel Church rd!!!

Hello everyone,
I missed this event unfortunately riding with some friends in North Georgia. Could I suggest we do something like this once a month? Maybe even get some rides together going. It would be great to meet other VTX riders in the area. I met Bardo & rode with Han’s in the past.

Shirley and I were going to go north untill Bardo and Elco cooked this up.
I don't know if I could make it every month, but I'd certainly make all that I could.

We are north 98% of the time also. Maybe could meet up somewhere up that way. Even getting together a couple of times this season would be better then nothing. The board has nothing on rides or getting together until this latest event. I tried to get this going a couple of years ago, but it just would not kick off. Maybe last Sunday's gathering has sparked the interest to meet up again. From what I have read from long ago posts, there was a lot of group rides and meet ups.
By the way, a group of us are heading to Thunder Beach this year. Anyone else thinking about it or planning on going?
We are also trying to figure out what to do on Memorial Day weekend. Looking currently to ride Blue Ridge Pkwy and Tail of Dragon areas. Anyone else have ideas or plans?

Yea, I remember you trying to get some things together. Sorry I was unable to join in on any of them.
We both have a Lawrenceville address, we should be able to get together fairly easy.
We frequently ride in NC & Va. It's part of the reason I'm hard to find on the weekends. We like to do over nighters.
It would be alot of fun to get a group together for an over nighter to NC.

Hey Mike,
We have a small group of 3-4 bikes that ride. All VTX's. NC trip idea is definitely something to plan for this year!
Another idea is to meet up on Bike Nights somewhere. Plenty of them to choose from. I remember a group used to meet at Vortex in the past. Not sure if that is still happening. We have been going to Thursday night Triple Play, Tilted Kilt, and American Legion in Buford. Triple Play is dying fast for some reason.

The Vortex group was us. It just fizzeld out. Probably because it's a pain in the back side to get down there in the afternoon.
We had around 20 of us there a couple of times. Did Triple play a few times, never had more than a few show up there.
It would be great to get the group active again.
The Phillips motel in Robbinsville has some 2-3 bedroom cottages. Would be alot of fun.

We"ll try to make the next one. Anyone still go to the vortex?
Heat shield still off, roadhouse went under. I asked on the parts board. no luck there. May put stocks back on and drill.
Hope to see you all soon.
Vortex meet died. Elco and I have been talking about trying to revive it.
Ya want to go? Looks like you, me, elco and statredud are interested.

Darn. Missed the Chophouse ride. Gona have to watch this board more regularly. Got it in my favorites now.
I like the idea of a periodic ride, and I'd like to meet up with some of y'all. The Missus isn't much for riding, so you wouldn't get the pleasure of her presence--unless we met for a dinner, LIKE AT THE CHOPHOUSE, ahem, in which case I could drive the truck.
I will be staying at the Iron Horse Lodge in Stecoah N.C. just outside of Robbinsville June 30th thru the 4th of July. I will be about 20 miles from Deal's Gap which is the entry point for the Tail Of The Dragon.
