got a chance to see 2 in person today........all black and a red/black.......at a small dealer about 40 miles east of my home. the pictures that i have seen on the computer do not do them justice.....in person they show a much lower center of gravity and profile..... dealer was allowing test rides on the red/black one.......i saw about 8 different test rides and everybody commented they loved it except for the short windshield(taller avaiable).....i declined a test ride because i was afraid of having to sell my 05 F model ..... .......personally i'm quessing that honda just might have a winner with this bike......price 19,000 for standard and 1,000 more for the upgraded option model........guess will have to wait and see........................ESKIMO

Still no cruise control. For that price you can get a cross country or street glide with cruise control.

The HDs I looked at today are in the 23+ range. I think the f6 is a loser hell some quick release on the glides trunk and you got the same bike basically. Maybe for those who are really squeezing to get a wing type bike.....IDK we'll see.

If I was just stuck on having to have a Honda I'd just get the GW for that money. I'm not impressed at all. As already mentioned though, for the money I would go for the Street Glide. I saw one at a dealer for a little over 20k.

I've seen them in person several times now and they're just not for me and I doubt they'll sell that many really. No one is fooled by a stripped GW pretending to be a bagger. Honda has abandoned the market and this won't help.

You make a good point about the wide seat though, the rear particularly looks like it's made for big butts.

They are more comfortable the the regular GW, but way too much black on them. They need more chrome! You can get a street glide with much more shiny and options for the same price.

I dont think I would say Honda abandoned the market. The market is saturated....At the HD steeeeeler yesterday they had 5 year old new models on the floor. And used bikes for more then new ones...lol. Trying as hard as they can to sell new, so to speak, bikes. If it was me I wouldnt be making bikes I cant sell but in a flooded market, its a real gamble. The Valk didnt work either.......Its actually kinda smart in a way, if you cant sell em as F6B, just put a seat, winshield and trunk on it and sell it as a wing.

I've been riding Honda's for 40 years and I don't like the f6B.................I'll stay with my vtx1300 and my Valkyrie

The old valkyrie looks much better and has more chrome-just dont like foot and leg position so vtx 1800 better choice

I saw one earlier this week at the Honda Dealer, all black. Looks pretty cool. Big Bagger with Honda reliability. I didn't hear it run but looks like Gold Wing mufflers so I am betting that most buyers will want more noise. They'll sell some of these.

Take a serious look at this bike and you can see they are different than the wing. I like my Wing just fine and it has all the accessories that i could want. The biggest thing I have that I reall wanted was the electrically heated seat and grips. The on board gps is handy and helps me get where I am going. Not sure what all the F6B is packing but, maybe it has a similar package? My Harley is fun but, it isn't as well appointed as the wing is. They both do a real nice job of travelin' though.

just a thought . Some riders might not like the look but its all subjective. It's faster, more reliable an less $$ to maintain then a street glide or a cross country. I think it looks good and like all goldwings good resale. It's the closest thing to a bagger honda put out not saying it's perfect but they did a good job. As for price its $3 or $4 grand less the the HD's in our area (taxes and shipping included)

From the few reviews I've read the reduced weight from up top has really improved the overall handling dynamics of the bike. They've taken a bike with a low center of gravity and made it better by getting rid of the heavy top box, seat and massive backrest. Apparently the difference in acceleration between the f6b & wing is quite noticeable. The new one piece seat is a little lower and doesn't lock you in like the traditional touring seat.

I dunno, I like it a lot. A real smooth move on Honda's part, minimal investment on a proven platform means very little risk if it turns out to be a showroom anchor. I can't imagine too many of the traditional V twin lovers going for this thing but I believe they will move a good amount. That big flat six, shaft drive, single sided swingarm get my attention. If I were in the market for a big touring cruiser this would be in my garage.

I think you could call it a stripped Gold Wing... missing a lot of the electronics, trunk and some of the other thinks that people that like the GW like them for. Some of the things they removed didn't make much since to me...like the GPS. I also think it should have came with floor boards. As I said, I like it better than the gold wing but many of the items removed would make it hard for a wing rider to step down from a wing... because of what it is makes it hard for some to step up to it from a cruiser. I really think Honda is loosing touch with the biker world. They need to get rid of the idea staff and start to hire bikes to come up with ideas.

I maintain that Honda has abandoned the bagger market. This will take away some traditional Wing sales and grab a few who weren't ready for the full Monty.
But I highly doubt too many who are buying Vaqueros/Nomads, Vic CC or Yami Strat Deluxe are coming on over.

My local multi brand stealer sold ALL their above mentioned baggers. There is a good market, just big enough or not enough desire to compete in it for Mother Honda.

I like the bike, the F6B caters to a segment of the market mostly not represented on this forum (VTXOA).....its not a Harley wanna be or anything else for that matter..stands alone...ride what you like...

Not everybody thinks like us. I think that there is a segment of society which is going to like the F6B wing. I saw it on line a while back and I thought it looked pretty cool. Then I saw it at the honda dealer the other day and was even more impressed. You can say all you want that it's just the traditional wing without the trunk and a few other changes but it's like saying that a beautiful woman is basically just an ugly woman with a few differences regarding her face and figure so probably not many more people are going to want her.

I'll be in the market for a new bike in about a year and plan on going more in the touring direction. I've never been stuck on the Gold wing but love the looks of this thing. I know basically all they did was chop a few things off but it made a world of difference from a styling stand point. I was thinking of going the fjr rout but may consider this when I'm ready. The lack of cruise control could be a deal breaker for me hopefully they at least offer it as an option soon. I agree that Honda doesn't have a whole lot to choose from when it comes to vtwin baggers or touring bikes no biggie for me as I'm ready to try something other than the vtwin thing besides there are plenty of quality vtwins to choose from between all the manufacturers. If I decide to spend 20+ on a bike I may even consider the Beemer k1600. Just like with cars I have 0 brand loyalty. When I buy somethig different than what I have I want it to be different.

Here you go, didn't like the seating position, don't think it was for a shorter guy. Can't sit back in the seat, and yea it's only 17,900 here. No cruiser control...ok didn't like that at all. But did like the hard bags, didn't care for where the controls were located at on the lower left...wow!! However to each it's own.

I prefer the roadglide myself, i sat on a friends streetglide and it felt heavier than the roadglide.

I saw a black F6B Gold Wing on the highway today, looks good, someone could not wait to get there hands on one. I think Honda will sell a few, in a v-twin world its a bike in a class of its own.

I don't like baggers, but this one looks pretty good. Priced similarly to the "competition", I don't see a downside. It's a wing, it will stomp a mudhole in a victory or harley bagger in any performance measure. They won't sell like hotcakes. A motorcycle is a luxury item and in our 8% unemployment environment, I would expect the cheap bikes to do better.

If I was ready for a rolling sofa, this would be it.

If I were in the market I still think that I would look at a Ducati Diavel pretty seriously. Ducati changed the Diavel a bit with some saddle bags and a few other touring bits. Be hard to totally over look that 162 h.p. bike. The valve check is now up to 18,000 on the Duck.

Well, to each his own, but to compare the fb6 to the Ducati Diavel is really comparing apples to oranges in a big way. It's almost like saying... "I was going to buy a 500cc yamaha motocross bike but I decided on the Harley Ultra Glide instead because I liked it better." What?! And besides, to me the Diavel is really, really ugly. But like I say... to each his own.
