Just ran the $$$ number this morning and ironically it came in very close to what people are currently paying for Furys. Granted I purchased my bike used so it's not a fair fight but is't a fight none the less

Purchased 2007 VTX-1300c (first registered in 3/08 ) with 778 miles on the clock for $7,000. It came with Cobra Speedster Slashdowns.

Added a few things:
RC Components Venom Wheels (front 21x3.5, rear 18x8.5)
240 rear tire & 21" front tire
Sumo-X tubular Swingarm
KewlMetal Pro Street Rake Kit w/ full length fork covers
Ultima Headlight
Xtreme Revolutions Phat Digger Rear Fender
LA Choppers BFL2 Handlebars w/ chopper rake
Jardine Billet Grips and Footpegs
Spiked Passenger Footpegs
Corbra Speedsters Slashdowns w/ Quite-core baffles
Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger
Kuryakyn Chrome engine covers
Kuryakyn small Sliver Bullets Front & Rear
Show Chrome Frame covers
Stumpwerx Dust Ring
Removed Seams from gas tank and repainted

Total for mods = ~$8,000

Re-sold stock parts removed from the bike = ~$1,700

Total = $13,300

*These are old pics so not all the mods are in them but you get the idea.

I would take your bike anyday! your ride is more custom chopper than most bikes .
sweet looken ride.

Regards,
PAVTX

Yes, that's what they are made for.

They look great, but the price tag is out of this world.

Yep, how does that saying go? Gotta Pay if you wanna Play.

If you want a big rake on the 1300 you could cut/weld the neck for about $600-$800 then add 6* raked trees on top of that for $500 then buy 4"-5" extensions for another $100 for a total of ~$1300 but your forks will look super skinny with the extra fork length. You can swap to a Harley specific neck and inverted fork setup but that will add $600-$1000 to the cost plus the cost of a wheel and brake caliper and fender. On top of this your bike is going to be in the shop for a least a month. I did mine in 8hrs You decide, both are very good options.

If you have a 1800 you don't have to worry about the skinny fork issue...lucky.

I think your scoot and others here that look similar are better looking. All your missing is fuel injection.

Don't really need it. My other bike is fuel injected and it's harder to tune + you have to fork over $200 for a Power Commander. To me Carb bikes run smoother and easier to work on then Fuel injected bikes and that's what I want in a cruiser, at least that's my opinion.

Polished lowers?? Lower fork legs? They are already polished, just up against the chrome fork covers they don't look as shinny

Was trying to be funny. They really don't look polished next to the chrome. Chrome them then

Maybe next year...or may not. Haven't decided yet, you can't really tell that much in real life, for some reason they don't look as shinny in pics.

Dumbcomputers, thank you for all your patience in answering questions I had about doing up my VTX. I thought it out hard, but couldn't come up with the cash for the project in a lump and couldn't figure out how to split it up and make it work.

I went out and got a Fury earlier this week to settle my jones for a new ride. I hope I don't miss out much by not going with the VTX.

I do appreciate your willingness to help,
