A few weeks back I inquired about an eldebrock filter I had seen on another bike. I found the guy that made them but he was all sold out.
I found a new item at J&P cycles called the Velociraptor made by Kuryakyn for $170. I ordered it and just got through installing it on my 2008 1800T. It looks great! I will ride early tomorrow and report. I am including some pictures of the kit and a few at different stages of install. It took me about two hours. Big Will |

Looks good but looks like it sticks out further than a Hypercharger

Is this the one you are talking about?? Not my bike. Just found it on the site but I do have the same one but have yet to install it. Actually I did install it for about 20min and then went back to the stock intake since it was popping like crazy......Sorry for the hijack! I actually like the Kury one you have now. Please do let us know if it sticks out a lot.....

It does stick out a ways but it is not in the way of my leg on the floorboards...I don't have highway bar/pegs yet so I don't know if it would be in the way with those. I tried to invison it and I think it would be OK.
I ran a tank of gas through today and here's my first impression: I makes a lot of noise. At lower RPMs, when accelerating normally, it is kind of an irritating sort of growling noise but with a full twist it is a satisfying induction noise that is actually louder than my stock pipes. I did not add a fuel control module (may need one). I pulled the two 30A fuses for a couple minutes to reset the fuel injection and went with that. It started fine every time and there is a modest boost in acceleration. Overall I like it. I'll report again in a few weeks after I ride with a group. I'll also provide any comments from other folks that may pipe up. Several have already commented that is looks good on the bike. |

The picture that GOG provided is the one I originally inquired about except the one I saw had an Eldebrock LOGO on it.

Since several folks asked about how far the air cleaner stuck out, i thought I would add a few more pics to give a better perspective.
