I own a Vtx 1800c. When I first bought it over a year and a half ago, the clutch was very hard to pull (or so it seemed, since I had a 750 before). Now, the past couple weeks I have to pull the clutch back all the way to the grip. (before I felt like I would only have to pull it half way). How do I make my clutch feel tighter? Harder to pull back. I want it to feel harder to pull back. Thanks in advance.
You could be experiencing air in the clutch. Try bleeding and flushing the fluid. I use Valvoline DOT 4 synthetic in my shop on all VTX's, it's good for both clutch and brake hydraulic cylinders
The VTX is a 2006, with just little over 14k miles on it. I bought it two years ago with 9k. The clutch still works, just when I first bought it, it seemed harder to pull the clutch back like lot more tension. Now there is still tension, but seems like its less.
If Corrosion set in down at the slave - it needs to be rebuilt - parts or no parts, depending on how bad.
