New Old Guy

Well I just picked up a 2002 1800R with 16,000 miles, quick release windshield, tachometer, Hardkrome exhaust, & auxiliary headlights. Living in the Tulsa,Ok area. Happy to be with you and already gleaning lots of helpful information.

It should be illegal to have a beautiful bike like that and run it for only 16k miles in 16 years.
The previous owner(s) should be ashamed.

VTXRRR,
Welcome, That sound like a sweet machine you just picked up. Folks here will help answer an question you could think of and tons of great info in the "how to" sections as well.
But first... get off your computer, hop on the VTX and log some miles!

I'm confused, I don't see pics, but I thought by @henkvdb post I missed something.

Welcome.

I don't need pictures to know that his or any other 1800 is a beautiful bike.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your "new" 1800R. 6 Years ago, I bought a 2003 1800R with almost 8000 miles on it. It was also loaded, windshield / backrest / luggage rack / saddle bags / K&N air filter / Vance & Hines exhausters / studded leather tank bib /.I was fortunate that even though it had low miles on it, it had also been well cared for and had regular maintenance. The original owner rode it frequently, he just didn't go very far. He had done it's 8000 mile valve clearance check and regular hydraulic fluid changes and coolant changes, the brake and clutch fluid windows were so clear it looked like water and the inside of the little tanks looked shiny and like new. The only thing I had to do right away was replace the factory original tires that were still on it. The following year I replaced the fuel pump regulator which is routine on a 10 year old VTX. I have 44xxx on it now and it's been a great bike, I have no plans to part with as far down the road as I can see.
