New Guy From Florida

Hi! I may be new here but I've been lurking on the forum for about about 9 months now. I bought my 2004 VTX 1300s late last year and have been coming here since pretty often. Just got tired of lurking and decided it was time to register.

The 1300 is my 2nd bike, but the first that has been a true daily rider for me. Years ago I snagged an old Goldwing that had seen better days and tinkered on it, rode it a bit on the weekends and that was about it. Last year I got the bug to get back on 2 wheels and eventually came across the 1300 for a steal and immediately jumped on it. Been riding it pretty much daily since.

I've added a few accessories but not all that much. I'm starting a new job in the next few weeks that should provide a bit extra expendable income, some of which will definitely be going into the bike. I'm open to suggestions for seats and exhaust if anyone would like to chime in!

I look forward to being part of the community here and thanks for having me!

Welcome.

Seats: research Mustang and Ultimate seats, both get great reviews. I have a Mustang with a driver's backrest and love it. I have never tried an Ultimate so I can't compare.

Hello Wicked Wabbit, welcome to the VTXOA!

Pipes - long pipes for retro.
See short semi-circlular pipes now, but
not on a retro. IMO

My Mustang seat has many miles.
The first mod!
OEM 1300C had a crappie seat. A PIA...
Others will suggest their choice.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice on seats and pipes!

I just did the Clayton mod to my stock pipes and was surprised by the result. Took it for a short ride before the rain came in. Going to take it for a longer ride tonight or tomorrow to really see how I like it. May go deeper on some of the holes depending on how the ride goes.
