Hi from Louisiana

Just bought an 05 VTX1300S, It's a beater that had set for a year and wouldn't start, drained the tank and the bowl cleaned the plugs, fresh gas, and a new battery and it started on the first crank, I gave 500 dollars for it. I've been riding all my life my Dad was a motorcycle guy, I won my first motorcycle race when I was eight years old, growing up we traveled the midwest racing flat track, I've owned a lot of motorcycles, Hondas, Yamahas, Harleys, Bultacos, I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade but I can pretty much fix anything except a cracked ass or a broken heart,
The previous owner didn't know a screwdriver from a hammer and he Kryloned the engine black, oh well it's a project bike, just here to learn some tips and tricks may be and check out other peoples rides.

Man, with a little TLC and patience, that could be one of the best $500 you ever spent. Great job. And welcome to the site.

Just in case you are an LSU fan, your boys looked pretty good once they got it cranked up last night. Whew... that was a bunch of points.

Welcome to the VTXOA!

Great price! Missing a few covers.
Take a look at the HC (hyper charger) vacuum hose, they have been known to break off.
Honda vacuum hoses crack on the ID.

My favorite OEM parts search> https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/ho...005/vtx1300s-a
Fleabay has many parts also.

Enjoy your ride!

Benton - I had to look it up. I grew up around NOLA.

Welcome from the other end of the boot. You ever do any saltwater fishing down my way (Shell Beach)?

'04 1300S or at least used to be.

Welcome to the VTXASG (VTX Addition Support Group) .... where we gladly support each other's addiction.

And thanks for rescuing her from the previous owner. She should clean up just fine and serve you well!
