anyone good at rejetting carb

got new vance & hines big shots installed on 06 1300S. put in Dyno jet on 3rd notch using the recommended mj & 2.5 turns (stock air box & filter). im getting black smoke & it will only run if i keep the choke a quarter pull out. also stalls when slowing down or under 10 mph. i have only went around the block. Are any of you good at this kind of stuff & could you help me out? if not then i guess i see a trip to the stealership. thanks.

What size main and pilot jet are you running?

3rd notch on needle is a base to start from.

Myself, I have a barons big air kit with Vance & Hines Big shots with quiet baffles ,
dyno jet 210 main,
62.5 pilot,
3rd clip and
1.5 turns out.

It runs PERFECTLY.
Great power off idle, mid range and up top. No flat spots.
44 mpg with some spirited riding and. 75-80 mph cruising on hwy

E 09 Chief do you have the stock air cleaner with aftermarket exhaust. If this is your set up you should not have to rejet the carb. Topically the only time you need to rejet is if you change the air-intake. I would try the factory setup of the carb and make small adjustments to the a/f. Do a search in the 1300 board for rejetting the carb.
