Deerlick Gap Overlook on the BRP. I nice place to be! So many overlooks, which one to stop at!
The Dremel - you have artistic abilities!

Probably ride tomorrow and fuel it up on the way back, so i come home with the full tank.
It's rained for the past 3 days, with thunderstorms and high winds, havent ridden since last Sunday! Feels like a month. wondering if i still remember how to ride...

Ride should be tomorrow since i usually give it 24hrs after heavy rains for the streets to get cleaned-up a bit.

I did look at the bike today when i got my hat out of the saddlebag. To be continued....

It had been 2 full weeks since i rode, it's been the weather, lots of rain and winter hit with daytime temps in the 50's.

Added some air to the tires, brought them up to 38,39, wiped off the windshield (yes i put it away dirty the last time).
had 105 miles on the tank when i left, rode it until it had 147, never put on reserve. Filled it up nice and full with fresh gas and came home with 1.7 miles on the tank.

Ride felt good, wore the full face helmet and a sweatshirt (the one i slept in..lol). Bike is running fine and the ride did me good.

few pics from today:

I used a Dremel (highest RPM. You want that bit turning fast or the bit will walk) with a 36" extension and the attached cutting bit. 1 per jug side, so a total of 4 (you want a fresh one for each jug side). Before I did this, I practiced with a 1/8" thick x 3/4" wide aluminum strip from Home Depot. Hold steady/firm with the amount of pressure for the desired cutting depth. Use your fingers to help hold your hand steady. Once it is cut, it is cut. If you decide to try this, remember you have one shot at each cut. I would recommend against attempting to cut the same cut twice...move on. Cover the sparkplug areas well. Remove all engine parts that are in the way and cover well, prior to starting. Wear good goggles, head gear, something to cover your face and ears, a long sleeved button shirt with collar (for the aluminum slivers). When I do this, I cut 2 to 4 fins at a time and walk away for a while to take a break and rest the eyes. You don't want to be fatigued doing this for best results. Good luck if you do this. It looks awesome at night and how the cuts captures any light.

Happy cutting

seb

What did i do today ! Sold my vtx after 13 years of ownership and 15 years on this site .Only a few names i remember that are still here Spike 63k posts wow.
The info i gained from this site was invaluable when i was customising my bike , Hal was a great guy and so were the rest of his staff helping me out shipping stuff to Scotland .Still think my x might have been the only bike with a left side brake conversion in europe.
I remember the sad time when a hurricane hit hals warehouse but i got a set of new rc predator chrome rims at a bargain price which allowed me to do the 240 conversion .
Any how take care and ride safe .
