Late May, June, and early July (longest days) are my favorite times to ride. Autumn is a close second. The angle of the sunlight, colors, and cool air are hard to beat. I always save a couple of vacation days for spur of the moment fall trips. I love running NY Rt. 30 up through Adirondack National Park, across the top of Lake Champlain, and then down VT, NH Rt. 7 back to the Connecticut River. I always pack the Gerbings jacket liner and gloves. They can feel real good in the early morning. It's a wonderful yet bittersweet time of year. Once it's below freezing, I won't ride. Don't care if you are the world Superbike Champ, if you hit ice, you are going down. I hope everyone (who lives where the riding is seasonal) gets out and enjoys.
