For others in this situation, Laam Custom Seats in Redding CA ( did an amazing job rebuilding my stock VTX1800T seat. The quality is excellent and the price seemed quite reasonable. Seth talks to you a couple of times during the process to get the seat pocket, height, etc... exactly the way you want it. He turned a 1 hour seat into an all day seat. I have no affiliation with Seth Laam aside from being a satisfied customer (twice - five years ago I had him redo my ST1300 seats).
