I just ran across this today and thought I would share. I have been using the original on my glass windshields on vehicles for years and now finally they came up with this product.
The Rain-X bottle (original type) itself warns you not to use it on plastics.
On some types of plastics it was OK but on others it would/could cause crazing and yellowing which I did experience on one of my windshields a long time ago and do not remember what brand it was. I think it was a Memphis Shades.
Years ago I had contacted both Memphis Shades & National Cycle and they both said, "No Rain-X"
It no longer comes in a metal can or any container. I swear by it too and have only a half a can left.
The rumor why it or any of the Liquid Glass products are not available is the owner had a serious mental breakdown and the company went out of business.:dontknow:
I hope you have a stash of it or a source. If you know of a source please PM me.
Memphis Shades tinted shields are very sensitive to cleaners......The only thing they recommend is All Clear or Dishliquid & water...Anything else will void warranty.
Soaked towel and finish up with pledge (solar MS still looks new)...but I do have extra shield minus hardware if needed...:grin2: ....
