Just depends on what year Rocket you are considering. I think the newer ones from like year 2012 are more reliable than the early models. I had a 2006 Rocket SE that I bought new and put about 40,000 miles on it before I traded it in. I did have a problem with the TPS and the ignition switch had to be replaced. The earlier models 2004-2010 had a problem with the trans jumping out of second gear under heavy acceleration but I didn't on my 2006. It was a beast though and loved the bike.
Back when I was healthier I came real close to purchasing a cream and black..what dealer called a rocket 3 tourer...but lucky for me they sold while I was back stroking... ....back in the day had a 1969 Bonneville...rode the chit out of it...oil,gas and tires was all it ever needed.....good luck
Phil...(71)”Nobody told me I die at the end” 2006 (bought new)...1300R Candy Black Cherry, darkside, foots mod.. ..
I have ridden some. I cam so close to buying one more than once but the dollars just wasn't available to make it financially comfortable.
For a big motorcycle I was very impressed with the slow speed parking lot exercises. On the road it is like my old Lincoln Town Car: smooth, powerful, and comfortable. Reliability I do not know first hand but go to the Rocket Three forum.
