What he hell do I do now ?

Finally located and picked up a used 1800 motor. Process of stripping down old motor for new. Still looking for some help though. I can only take this so far on my own.

P.S. anybody have some clutch shims (.50) in exchange for new shock inserts (the OEM green ones). This don't fit progressive shocks and are brand new.

I know I've got some shims in my garage. Don't remember if they are .025s or .050s. I will check tonight. If they are .050s, you are welcome to them.

Good lookin' spec motor. Any particular reason you decided to put the cyclinders on the old bottom end rather than a straight swap?

A diagnosis of the old motor would have been interesting.

my first thought is thank god you didn't get oil under rear tire at 85mph and.. .
go detective on the old engine and inspect everything you take apart to find out what failed
if nothing else you can learn a great deal and share it here .
good luck with it hope you're up and riding again soon

I think you miss understand the picture. The motor on the bike is old one, the one on the dolly is the new one, swap hasn't been done yet, still in breakdown mode

Whoops, you're right I mistook the photos. The black painted cylinder fins stood out against the silver engine case. You did paint the cylinders on the original engine?
