VTX 1800 fuse “c” keeps blowing.

The fuse “c” keeps blowing. I’ve put in a new license plate light. Checked my wiring on the replacement rear turn signals I’ve put in. The braking light works. The fuel gauge and speedometer/odometer have stopped working. At a loss as to where to go from here. Any suggestions would be appreciated

The 02-05 1800C schematic shows fuse C as Brake, Horn, Turn Signal.

The speedo/odometer, fuel light are on the same circuit as the license plate light, rear tail light, schematic shows it as Fuse "B".

The fuse designation letter is F'ed up on the 1300 series so this on the 1800 does not surprise me.

Go by the functional designation on the fuse box..

You added a new license plate light--- disconnect it. If it stops blowing the fuse you have found your problem.

Black/Brown is the wire on the speedo/odometer/fuel/license plate/tail light.
02-05 C has the front Run/position lights on that Bl/Br wire also.

For future reference, replace all your fuses with the EZ-ID kind that light up when they pop. Not much more than regulars, and will save you time trying to find which circuit is the culprit.
