There are some Trikes for sale on one of the facebook groups. Might be cheaper and easier to sell yours and buy one of those?

Why would I do that when I have the bike already paid for and is still in great condition and with a 2002 with 106,000 miles on it where can I get $10k to offset the $20k or more for a trike?

Here is a kit that is $7k, before labor...
http://www.motortrike.com/trikevtx.aspx

There seems to be an abundance of 1300 trikes for a good price. Cheaper than a conversion kit.

attitude... and hand out for help.

the above 3 are much cheaper....

2 of the 3 I have seen on customers bikes..

or be like the 1970's,,,,,,, design your own,,,
use a Ford Mustang II rear axle assembly.. and weld a few brackets.
that is how the 70's Goldwings were converted....

before companies made high priced kits.
and some of these high priced kits use the mustang II rear ends....

Yes, I used to wrench at a dealership.. and did installs of kits.
just not current ones. Retired.
VTX53R and DrDolittle like this.

Not tryin to sport an attitude.... I just want to do my own kit and not have to buy another bike. My bike isn't worth selling because of the age and miles so I thought I would have some fun and convert it myself. thanks for the input.

They are high dollar like I thought.... looked through them all and yes there were a few under $10k but I have to wonder why so cheap. $7000 would be more cheaper and I know what I have in my bike. I think that the motortrike kit is for 2005 and up so that may not be an option as well. Like Chuck said maybe I should build my own... certainly a consideration.
