Oil type?

Changing oil from belray to ? I have been using belray 10/40 for the last 5 years in this bike and was thinking of changing. What do you think is the best oil for bikes out there for the 1800? I used amsoil on my 750 nighthawk and really liked it but was convinced to use this belray but it doesn’t always shift the best and I’m not sure if it’s oul related or not. Let me know what you think?

Oil - MC specific could be Mobil or Amsoil or other.
Shell Rotella T6 shows meeting JASO wet clutch requirements is popular.

Clean and Lube the shifter pedal pivot point.
How is the clutch fluid? If it is dark it needs to
be replaced.

I started using AMSOIL when it was Named AMZOIL.... 1973....

any good oil that DOES NOT post energy conserving... to save the clutch.

Mobil One.. for some years now... the CAR favor.. full synthetic . again read the above line....

You being NEW here ( WELCOME ).. asking about OIL. can start a OIL lover WAR... one brand is better then another....

and must use ONLY motorcycle oils.. ( bull )

my opinion.. and most will be different. some friendly... others not so much.

and as above... lube the shifter.. and bleed the clutch system every 2-3 years. dark fluid means NOW... just like the brakes.

I'm so glad that you asked the question about the oil. It's been a few weeks since we've had the "oil debate" on here!!! I'm a Mobil 1 user and fan.

AMSOIL MCF 10-40 motorcycle oil. Good for twice the Honda recommended change interval of 8,000

before AMZOIL made motorcycle oil ( AMSOIL )
yes I used to be a dealer.

they advertised One year or 25,000 miles..

my 83 Wing at 1,000 miles.. installed AMZOIL into wing....

changed every 25,000 miles..not caring about the 1 years...

I totaled the bike at 149,000 miles... bike never consumed motor oil... or leaked any.
and I towed a cargo trailer over many of them miles..

Oh, oh,oh.. always changed the FRAM oil filter every 12,500 miles.. bike never went up in flames.

that is 6 oil changes.. for its life..

for the record... that is 2 up..
I was and am 250 pounds... wife 175 plus or minus...

big tent .. 2 cots... 2 zero degree rated sleeping bags.. pillows... cloths.
food .. beverages ....

do not believe.... search back in the early days of this forum..... it should still be here.

this is NOT a promotion of AMSOIL.. just showing the "BULL" of oil companies...
