Get fuel dummy

My factory low fuel thermistor quit. I followed on replacing it with the honeywell 1k thermistor. Replaced it. Did some open air and then submerged testing. Great it works. Went for a nice little ride. It was about 55 deg out no problems. Go out for a ride when it is 70 with a full tank of gas and my low fuel light is on. I have taken the tank on and off about 6 times now making sure that it not touching anything. I have even added some PTFE tubing to make sure the income power cannot touch any ground point. It is a 2002 VTX 1800S2. Dash dummy light is LED factory not regular light bulb like the C and F. Does anyone have any idea why it works for C & F models but not the S?

Garage
C is the only model with a bulb.

And it has not always worked as expected.
The OEM disk unit probably can dissipate more heat therefore it does not change resistance as quickly as the small thermistors.

The two thermistors in series seems to work. Nascarpop 1800C See attached doc.

I do not know if there is a IC chip/comparator circuit or if the LED version has about the same current flow as the 1800C bulb.

Thanks guys. I thought about adding the second resistor I have in but was leary. Last night I added a 2.3 watt light bulb in line and it shut off in the tank. Under open air it turned on. But now that I can see add the second one in I will probably do that so I don't have a second failure point. Thanks again guys.
