And you, my friend, are the eyes at this point. Try this, when you park it, tape some paper towel, those blue Scott shop paper towels are great, I buy them at Costco and always have some on hand, under the frame of the bike with some masking tape. When you look under the bike after a while, the location of the drip will be more visible. Maybe you can find some clues from that. I find it easier to track these things down if you can park the bike vertical as opposed to on the side stand. I always park mine in a wheel chock, it uses less space in the garage that way.

Check your coolant level in the reserve tank under the bike for volume lose when my water pump went it's what I noticed first! I replaced mine at about 60,000 km and it was a common problem early VTX's.

I probably have to drop in new Honda coolant which will be another 40 or 50 bucks as well.
so my apologies ahead of time if the question sound repetitive but unfortunately I don't have deep pockets to start throwing money all over the place.
Before buying a new water pump you must be sure about the cause of the leak. So after riding but the bike in a vertical position on a stand it will become clear where it is leaking. On the image you sent I can't recognize a weep hole.

It looks to me as if it is leaking. Everything surrounding the area is dirty with wet crud. No, it's not green like the other pic, but if his just started leaking, it may not look as bad.

Take a pic again right after a ride when everything is hot and cooling down, not a cold engine see if that brings the leak out

There to markings on the reserve tank a high and low level, get someone to sit on the bike upright and then you can check it.

Here's an image literally seconds after I got off the bike. Not sure of it's telling or anything.

You looked two days ago and it was dry and "no evidence of any leak."

A lot has happened in two days.

What's with the oily mist all over your frame and filter?
