Question VTX1800S 2002 stock engine color

Hello Everybody

I have a scratch on my engine cylinder and want to paint it. Anybody knows what is the paint color code for the VTX1800S 2002 stock engine color?

Bests
Greg

Did the '02 1800S have black jugs?

If so it's unlikely that even if you had the paint code, you'd get anything to match. It's been at least 17 years and how many heat cycles? Personally I'd leave the touchup as small as possible, or leave it alone altogether. Otherwise pull the jugs and repaint them ... a pretty big job. Some have painted the jugs in place on the bike and polished the fins after painting. I think that is also a pretty big job, but can be done with minimal mechanical teardown and a lot of time.

There were a few version we saw here. The one I liked the best was the scalloped edges on the fins. Of course there's the diamond cut and the polished. All look great IMO, but I liked the scalloped fins the best. I think the poster did them with a dremel and a steady hand ... and many hours.

thanks. the engine is in "grey" color, the scrach is not big but I know it's there and it makes me unhappy... probably I will need to live with that.

Yes, I used a dremel. I have done this to two of my personal bikes and a friends. I sold both bikes, but recently bought a 08 1800N that is gonna this done as well. Thanks for mentioning it. Hope the pics show up.
