Smurfy71 2008 VTX 1300T

May 18, 2019

I purchased a Hondaline lightbar off a member of this forum and took a few hours to install it on the weekend. It looks great, I can't wait to see how it lights up the road at night. I purchased a set of H3 LED bulbs to replace the halogen bulbs that came in it.

I also replaced the taillight with a LED kit, and a smoked lens. The lights can also be connected to the signals, however I already have LED signals built into my saddle bags, so for now I left them disconnected.

Thursday night I was leading a ride and the guy behind me at a stop asked if I was using my signals. I was, but apparently the left rear wasnít working.

Today I dug into it, was a simple issue, the wire running from my saddlebag LED lights on the left were rubbing on the tire under the fender. Went through the plastic wire guard, the insulation and then broke the hot wire. There was a 1 inch section I had to cut out, join it back together and heat shrink. Fixed.

I figured while I was at it, Iíd connect the taillight signals as well. Now thereís a back up.

So did I. Same price I Paid. The light bar doesn't come up for sale often. It looks nice on your bike. What bulbs did you use?

Do you still have the Brand and part number for the H3 LED bulbs you put in your driving lights?
So many choices on ebay and dont want to pick an inferior product.

Thanks if you can supply the P/N and brand.

Couldnt for the life of me come up with the power consumption of these LED bulbs, i see 50W but took that as the "equivalent" in power not the actual power draw to light them up. Do these really draw as much power as a 50W Halogen?
