Horn replacement problem

All, I wanted to upgrade the horn on my 2006 1300R and I wanted it to be as plug and play as possible. After reading some reviews I bought the FIAMM Freeway blaster. I hooked it up to the original wires and tested by hitting the horn button. All worked. Then I bolted it on and when I tested it in the end, it did not work. Neither did the original horn any more after I put it back on. I checked and all the fuses are intact. The turn signals also work. Could I have burned the switch using this new horn? Is there a horn relay on these bikes in the circuit? What steps would you recommend next?
Thanks

I cant help with your problem ,other than to say I used 2 blasters and a relay...the relay is triggered by the stock switch...13 years zero problems...Hans will be along ....good luck

Sorry to hijack, but with the two blaster set up you mentioned TennX - was that the low and high, or just two lows (or two highs)?

Garage
Fiamm Freeway Blaster low = 9 amps(spec sheet). High shows 6 amps

A 10 amp fuse will not handle TS, Brake and Horn.
I suggest you replace that fuse, it may have issues.

You could test the horn at the starter relay battery cable and frame Ground to see if said horns are good.

Relay --yes you need a relay and a 20 amp fuse feeding that horn.
The VTX horn wires are great for triggering the relay..

As said by Hans and TennX you need a relay.

Two blasters for 10 years with relay. Only two problems: one was mounting the horns securely and the other problem was that I lost one somewhere west of Gallop, NM.
