1300 only starts in neutral

Just put all new eletrical switches in the bike. Also replaced the clutch plunger switch. Bypassed the kickstand switch years ago. Used to start when in gear. Now not so much.

Try pulling in the clutch lever. not supposed to start in gear unless clutch lever pulled in.

if you do not use or want safety switches... just remove them.
aka pre 1970's bikes

Danger,,,,, no safety switches.. can cause bike in gear to launch forward when starter engages .

I do the opposite....I leave kick stand switch operational & disconnect the lever.....That way if you stall in traffic you can start in gear.

it can only seat one way. I've pulled the switch out. Pressed on it with my finger. Still does not start.

Put a jumper wire across the wire terminals on the VTX and see what that does.

I forgot about the Kury levers and the issues.
I Googled "kury levers"

https://www.vtxoa.com/forums/7-vtx-1...de-levers.html

Several ways to get it working per above thread.

I am not sure exactly status it is in or what you want.
Thread shows only starts in Neutral..
Here you say will start in gear without the clutch operated.
You bypassed the KS switch years ago, that with clutch switch contacts closed will allow it to crank.
