Cooling for carb?

Why does radiator water run through the carb of a VTX 1300?

In my opinion, it is to keep the carb warm in cold weather .

Carb heat, manifold heat have been around a long time.
Six cylinder engine with intake and exhaust manifolds bolted together(over/under).
1957 283 Intake Manifold heat from the exhaust crossover, it also had two holes drilled so the exhaust could go to the base of the carb.
Eventually everything became blocked with carbon and the bi-metal valve on one exhaust manifold became stuck.

I removed the VTX carb heater hoses in the last year or so.

As I live in the tropics. I think I'm gonna do the same thing and remove the hoses.
Don't think I need extra heat in my manifold
