I've never had, by my dad did. It definitely needs looking at. That's the primary reason for getting a base line. These sorts of elevations need looking at. At this point, it could be nothing to be overly alarmed about. That was my dad, so don't go getting panicked. OR, it could be an early sign, but that's the point of it. Early is best case scenario if it is a sign.

A quick prayer for your protection my brother. Please let us know what the doc says.

From what little I know about the PSA #, it's a pretty good, but not infallible, test that tells you you NEED to get it evaluated further. There is something like an 8-10% error with the test. The scheduled visit with a urologist is good, if you've only seen your PCP.

Garage
I had my first annual physical in 2010 and PSA was 8.8
Digital exam indicated abnormality.

Biopsy report of 12 specimens had two Gleason score 6 and seven Gleason score 7

101 I-125 Prostate Seeds were implanted into my prostate.
35 external beam radiation treatments began a few weeks later.
(33 of 35 trips were made on the VTX, about 40 miles RT, 0700 appointment with stars and the heavenly skies to view. Sunshine on my back going home)

Urgency becomes an Emergency.
If I had to pee and put it off, I lost control.

Here we are 9 years later, alive and kicking.
Too much radiation in my treatment plan caused problems.
Urgency is still an Emergency. I stop on the road often and head for the woods.

One neighbor recently had prostate radiation treatment. Three radiation events and that was it.

One local TV personality has been watching his slightly elevated since 2006. Link with data.

Depending on your health and life expectancy you have decisions.

I wish you well my friend!

That is pretty high as mine is just around 1.Good idea to get it checked. I had a euro lift done on my prostrate. That procedure was suppose to help me from urinating at bedtime. Really not helping much. Next he says that getting a lazer surgery around my prostate should do it he says.
