One of the PROUDEST moment of my, and my wife's, life was getting over 1,000 signatures in the Southern California community of Santa Clarita to get Ross Perot's name on the California ballot. We set up a table in front of a local large grocery store for a weekend or two.
It was amazing! When folks drove by and read our LARGE sign, they would slam on the brakes, put the car in park, jump out and say 'I WANT TO SIGN THAT!!!' People were PISSED with George H. W. Bush.
Remember, Ross Perot got 19% of the national vote!
I found a T-Shirt from the 1992 election in my closet about a year ago. Still proud of that baby!
“...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
― Theodore Roosevelt
