True Chuck. Also, they stop the enemy from firing, which is why the boots on the ground overwhelmingly support the idea of keeping them flying and not replacing them with the F35, which could not provide the same level of protection, or stay on station as long.

The Army should 'own' the A-10, not the Air Force. The army has fixed wing aircraft. Why not the A-10?
