Leroys73, I was born in Dumas, Tx. and raised in Dallas, Tx. guess you could call me a native. Met, dated, and married my wife she's from there. She was born in Dallas and raised in Madill, OK.
Dumas, been through there more times than care to count. Worked with a guy from there, Walt Depue (sp).
Nothing wrong with Madill. I was on my way back to Lawton from a fishing trip at Lake Hugo in the '70s. We stopped there for gas and the bank was being robbed. A lot of excitement for the place.
I have made many of trips through Madill on the way to Texoma or Hugo or just to take a ride.
Well, I am not a native Texican, but I got here as soon as I could.
I lived near Cincinnati until I was 12, dad in army so moved to Oklahoma in 1961, lived there until 1997 (except for 3 years in Germany when I was HS senior and two years of college). The wife got transferred to Big D in '97. Well we had a choice Memphis or Dallas. I said in Dallas, they speak almost he same language as Okies, so Dallas it was. Glad to be in Texas.
BTW: please forgive me, but The Wife was from Detroit until out of college. Met her in Oklahoma right after Goodyear transferred her from Akron. It has been a job but I have converted her.
