Water+March+Desert+Arizona=Beautiful

Went on a ride to but not on the the X. Instead a 2016 V-Strom DL650 that I purchased last November. The destination was Horse Shoe Dam. Horse Shoe Dam is on the Verde River north of Scottsdale Arizona. I have lived in Arizona for 30+ years and have never been to Horse Dam or for that matter Horse Shoe Lake above the dam. The last 10 miles of the have some ome pretty deep ruts and did I mention sand. At the start of the last 10 miles I kept thinking an X can make it down here then I had second thoughts. Well anyway I have some pictures of this trip to Horse Shoe Dam.

The spring bloom in the desert can be quite nice. In fact any water in the desert can trigger a blast of life. They've been needing water for some years. ride safe safe travels

Heard of the dam and lake but have never been either. Thanks, for posting up the pictures.

I have been here for 12 years and still have a lot of exploring to do. This winter has been the coldest, rainiest and windiest since moving here from Ohio. That water flow from the dam doesn't surprise me. Looks cold!

Thanks for the pics. Always enjoy seeing where others ride. Hope to ride that direction next year if I retire as planned. Want to see some of Arizona and Utah
