Ccrider - I hope you saw the pic with tape around the ICM and cable..

Jackk - time to have your eyes checked.
Starter Relay pic with designations shows a yellow blob of plastic with 14 pins.

Hans. any recommendation as to the type of tape used for strain relief of ICM?

2008 VTX1300R
Ultimate Seat
National Windshield - Modified
Cobra Light Bar
Hard Krome ? Pipes - 2 1/2"
Engine Guard - 1 1/4"

Early years had very short wires.
Post a pic of your ICM and the wires at the connector. Later models may have more slack, I would like to see.

Any tape you have on hand.
Several layers of electrical tape, shipping tape. Duct/Duck tape.

Regular electrical tape. I removed a lot of tape. I still hope ot is not too tight?

ICM leads that break are the Black +12v wire or the Green IPG wire(sometimes both).

Too short from the main harness, so stress and vibration create a failure.
