Competition Design

Good luck finding one of these. There's a sad backstory to this air intake. Originally built by John Fortuna who started Competition Design with his wife. The web site was CDSbikeparts.com. They were building really cool stuff for the VTX around 2003 / 2004. I talked to John and bought my CDS air intake kit from them (looks like the picture you posted). He and his wife were killed in a motorcycle wreck and the family went through stages of shutting down the company and then trying to keep it going and then sold the designs and everything to Extreme - who I think about 2 years later also went out of business. I'm afraid somebody is just sitting on the designs and stuff and no one is producing the air intakes. I think I got one of the first 100 units and I've found a new K&N filter a few years ago after getting exact measurements on the original and ordering through a parts house. Still looks great after 18 years, but a sad story and the original creator and business.
