Name is Wax Assembly...
its bolted to the rear side of the throttle body..


manual page 5-70 and 5-71 .. on my manual
its called a Starter Valve in the service manual..

Hans&Feet Wax valve, I posted this PDF in the last week...

If you review a 12 months of threads on the 1800 board you will find about every issue that ever existed.

YES. it IS the coolant temperature controlled Fast Idle... NO CHOKE..

it does have a few issues over time.. not real common. YET.

it can stick... maybe in cold mode or hot mode...
moisture oxidizes its body and then sticks.

mine stuck about 4 years ago... in fast idle mode... a little cleaning and done.

Is it associated with the automatic choke on our 1800's.....??? Just curious......

Does it expands or contracts according to temp of engine and adjusts the startup RPM's ??

I am correct here ?

Bilge Thanks Hans....I see it now in my 2002-2008 VTX1800C/F Service manual in the Fuel Section & the Schematics......

I just overlooked it........

Hans&Feet One is the Engine Stop Relay(ESR), the other is the Fuel Pump Relay(Fuel cutoff Relay FCR)
Hint: FCR has TWO Black/White wires.

If you stare & compare the Fuel Pump schematic to your relays you can make a definite identification of either one..

2005 VTX1800C1

What are the 2 relays that are under the right side cover ?

from right to left: fuses, turn signal/position relay........but what are the other 2 ??
