Have seen these friendly little guys since I was a kid.
Unafraid of humans in the wild. They will land on your outstretched arm if the think you have food.
They don't fly south , but stay in Canada through the winter.

My favorite is the cardinal. Close in appearance to the Cedar Wax Wing. Sadly we don't see them on the left coast, but they were abundant where I was born and raised.
Nice pic, thank you.

Well, it's not a bird. But how often do a cat and a dragonfly get so close.
This was a few years ago, I was holding Maybell and just inched her closer to the perched Dragonfly. I think t was love at first sight, neither of them bugged. I finally set Maybell down and the Dragonfly just kept sunning itself.

You're lucky to see these beauties frequently
I have seen them here in Colorado only once, during migration season.
I was lucky a few weeks ago though. Because there was/is still a lot of snow in the mountains some migrating birds had to wait in the plains for a few days before they could move on so I go my very first Western Tanager here on my own bird bath. That was a special treat.

|[email protected]||I barely caught a pic of this. I was riding on a back road, he flew out of a road ditch, been eating roadkill. By the time I got my phone out, turned the camera on and snapped a picture i was still going about 50. Good thing I wasn't texting,I might have wrecked and killed him.|

I share your interest in nature’s beauty. I got this pic of a Cormorant in the Florida Everglades.

No, it's not poltergeist. One of Mother Natures beauty's. The Cedar Wax Wing. My favorite bird of all time is the Bald Eagle (go figure). I remember in seventh grade our teacher asked if we could be any animal, what would it be. My choice was the Bald Eagle. She asked why? My reply was "majestic".
Anyway, Mother Nature made one hell of a cool bird in the cedar wax wing. Every year when our Amelanchier blooms and the berry's are a-bud, the cedar wax wings show up. I was just admiring them now. They are so stealth, and cool. The Robin (Batman & Robin) mask is impressive. The funny thing is the Robins do not like them taking their food source and chase them away. It is fun to watch. No I did not take the attached pic, I've tried, too elusive. But I'm not giving up, yet. Mother Nature is so cool!!
