Thanks for any comments.
I have the VTXExhaust.com mod on my 1800N. It made it sound more like a classic muscle car and less like a Singer sewing machine. I did the Pair Valve/Air Box mod as well.

The only issue I had is that until I put the Cobra FI2000R controller on, was constant popping on deceleration. With the programmer, I have no more popping and am still getting an average of 40 mpg. I did run some 4" long baffles from J&P for a while, since the newly modded output pipe is a standard larger size. I didn't run them long as it wasn't the sound that I was after.

Best of luck! You have already made the right decision by riding a VTX.

The bike in the photos in your link does look real nice.

So when I say I like it its in the realm of the 1800 not compared with any other bikes. Also by the time you ship back and 4th not sure you save that much. I liked the look of the original muffler so I had them gut and shorten works for me. Hope you figure out what works for you. O the video in my sig is VTX.exhaust.com with no baffle at all

I agree, I have done that same change years ago and the sound is much better than stock but they still look like the stock stacked R pipes that I like. I also run the baffles to quiet them down to a sound I can stand. The offset crank pins of VTX 1800 will never sound like a HD or even the VTX 1300 which operate from a single crank pin setup!

I think the Clayton mod and VTX Exhaust end up with different results. I do not care for the Clayton mod sound (my opinion) but the VTX Exhaust isn't too bad (again, my opinion). I may be wrong though and it could be that they were on entirely different bikes.
