dude_95 Im 5'8" and have a mustang with a backrest that ive put 80k miles in. I tried a saddelman seat and hated it. Mustang was the perfect fit for me, and no complaints from her on the back

I haven't done anything yet, but have absorbed some useful takes, including yours (thanks)! My goal is to get something over the winter, and I also now know I don't have to shy away from a used seat for an R or T for my S.

wrongway Iím not sure what the OP has done unless I missed it when reading through.
Anyway, Iíve never had any luck with a stock seat except on a Goldwing and Ultra Classic.
Iíve used corbin, mustang and ultimate.
Although the corbin and mustang were both much better than the stock seat, I still got numb bum pretty bad.
With the Ultimate low rider without backrest I can literally do 9 hour days in comfort. For me itís the best seat Iíve ever ridden on.
Iím only 5í8Ē so the low rider works for me but I have a friend who is 6í and about 300 lbs. He said my lowrider made him feel like his balls were up on the gas tank.
Anyway, my votes for the Ultimate seat.

Sorry, haven't been here for a while...ANY seat is better than the stock seat! If you can handle 1.5 hours on the stocker, a Mustang would be a great upgrade, and the Ultimate even better.

gmarshall Bought the lo rider seat used on theorem. I don't know how the big boy seat would fit me.

It was adjustable but still not comfortable so I contacted Ultimate. Ultimate DID warranty the pan and replaced it at no cost other than shipping to them. I got the feeling, though, that Ultimate may not have pans available in the future for a bike that's out of production for 10 years. Or at least may not have the pans on hand.

Before the 1800 I had a 1300 with a Mustang "touring" seat AND passenger pillion. Both seats together had 9" of backrest making the Mustang my favorite choice for low back support.

My 2 cents.

Have you tried an X with the Big Boy? To see which is more comfortable for your legs?

I ask, because with the stock seat I felt like my knees were too high in reference to my thighs.

Another option...

Have you considered getting your current seat modified? I've had two seats modified by Mean City Cycles and I saved a ton of $$ and am very pleased with the results.

They can cut your seat to sit your further back too.

Mean City has a fantastic reputation with members on our site.
