theres a factory light bar plug in the headlight bucket, I dont know of another plug green /ground,brown/keyed on hot,blue?/highbeam some may have used this for other purposes, I used the red/black trace from ignition, most like to use brown tail light wire. others may disagree but I like to stay out of the main system so I used a fuse block keyed on by relay,no matter what acc. you hook up you should use a relay. .02 Good luck

For all of my add on accessories I use a power/fuse block that is controled by a relay. Also a seperate ground block. The power block is attached to the toolbox door. The ground block is under the right side cover. This makes it easy to add on electrical items and won't overload the stock wiring. I used a piece of aluminium "L" stock mounted under the seat on the frame cross bar by the rear wheel to attach the relays.

I just hardwired mine directly to the battery and put a fuse at the positive post that way its always hot and if it shorts it will blow the fuse at the battery and kill the wire all the way. I have heard others say that splicing into wires cause all kinds of problems on the vtx. I put the fuse at the end of the hot wire and the connector is at the end of the fuse holder where there is less than 1/4" of wire from the connector to the fuse.

Theres nothing wrong with splicing into the system if all you want is a tap,the problem is when you splice in an try to push all those addons with the starter button, the way you did yours is fine if all you want is a single acc. but for those of us that have more addons I believe a fuse box and relays is the way to go that way you dont run out of room on the battery terminals  . .02 Have a safe one
