Triple tree stem bearings are about the only main issue. Besides that most the same common issues as the 1800 minus FPR and ground fix. 1300 forks are easier to deal with also.

You will notice less power and less powerful bakes.

I am with you. About the only thing not replaced or modded is the inside of motor.

Great trouble free motorcycles.

Hans helped me forgo any issues at or after 100,000 miles.

I have 141,000 miles on my 2007 VTX1300, bought new in 2008.

I have had no breakdowns on the road unless they were human errors. I do maintenance by the book. I also do preemptive replacements. I replace the headlight bulb every two years as i do the battery. I do not like to repair or replace when I am 4 or 5000 miles from home or in the middle of Nowhere USA and it does not start.

I did, after cleaning a few times, replace the turn signal switch assembly and the starter button harness at around 100K the turn signal button broke off and I did not want to take a chance on the starter button.

Someone said their rectifier/voltage regulator went out on them so I replaced it at 100,000.

Around 100K: I replaced the diaphragm in the carburetor. I don't remember the official name or what we call it. i latter thought i should have replaced the accelerator pump diaphragm but i didn't and I haven't had any trouble. I replaced the petcock diaphragm. Also the forks were rebuilt with Race Tech parts including the Gold Valve.

This was all at about 100K. Most was preventive. on a 5 to 9000 mile trip I did not want any problems and I never had.

So the bottom line is I would say ride and enjoy for 100,000 miles trouble free. The turn signal switch seems tobethe only issue reoccurring and maybe the starter switch. I periodically would spray electric contact cleaner into the open area around the buttons.
