Back story: I broke my ankle so the bike sat. I started occasionally and all seemed fine. I tried to start today and it turned over real slow so I charged the battery. My smart charger says the battery is fine. The fuel pump runs. The relay clicks. Bike doesn’t even try and turn over. There is no load on the battery and the voltage stays good.
Do the starters on these bikes ever get ‘stuck’? I tried rolling it in gear but that didn’t change anything.

Check the magnetic switch under the left side cover. Controls flow to starter. Known weak spot.

Pull off Starter relay control wires, reinstall.
Several times oxidation has affected starter relay function.
Recently a terminal was crimped on the Starter relay.
Keep a volt meter on the starter relay battery cable and ground.
Direct battery cable on Starter relay to the Starter motor cable.
Verify tranny is in Neutral, bridge the studs with a screwdriver or pliers.
Some sparks and cranking should take place if battery is good.

Nest time it sits, park it plug it in to a trickle charger and leave it ALONE. Never start something and let it idle then shut it off, especially bikes. They don't charge a battery at idle speeds and it will never get hot enough to burn off the condensation it will create when it cools off. That water will sit in the engine, fuel tanks, exhaust and even the frame if you're in a cold climate.
