Here we are in week 2.... a little early for too much trash talk. But some interesting early tests.

Michigan is looking weak against freakin Army right now, and even if they finally pull out a score they are being exposed as mediocre.

Speaking of mediocre, two weeks ago I went down to Orlando to meet up with college buddies and watch the Gators play Miami. We eked our a win but it was a very ugly game. Looked like no one wanted to win.

For me and many Gators, a perfect football weekend is when Noles, Vols and Dawgs all lose. I’m not holding my breath for a UGA loss, so last week was probably as good as we will see for a while. And we can still laugh at Muschamp for losing to that silly never-was coach Mack Brown.

I've NEVER been more disappointed in a team that imploded upon themselves as my Huskers did against Colorado. It was pathetic to watch a 17 - 0 score be completely obliterated in the last few minutes of the 3rd Qtr and on into the 4th. It's like the Huskers forgot how to play in the 2nd half.

I won't give up on them yet, hoping they get their heads back in the game and prove to be a solid contender the rest of the year.

Anyway...Big Red is my team, but I WILL hold them accountable. They're better than what they've shown...and they know it. Just execute...and do your job!

Well, I’m still not convinced the Gators are deserving of a top ten ranking, but it’s nice to see them get to 5-0.

Also a bit surprising to see half of the top ten slots being occupied by the SEC. LOL, that has been known to generate lots of envious whines in the past. But that lopsided ranking can’t continue much longer because a lot of undefeated teams are about ready to go head to head.

Auburn Tigers are coming to Gainesville next week, so at least that tough game will be at home. That will be the first real test of the season.

Thought Arkansas was going to pull of the upset but the Aggies held on in a close one. Bama and Auburn both wailed on their respective opponents. Bama has played some weak ass teams but they still have already beaten two SEC teams in South Carolina and Ole Miss. And not just beat , but routed. Still have Arkansas, LSU, Miss ST and Auburn left and a good chance to play Georgia again. So if they do win out then it would be hard to say they didn't play anybody.
Now I'm Bama through and through but I'm pulling for Jalen Hurts to win the Heisman.

Turned out, the Auburn Tigers weren’t quite as strong as their pre-game hype. Ugly game in Gainesville with a hideously high number of turnovers. But I liked the final score with Gators on top!!

Your game wasn't as ugly and the Northwestern / Nebraska game. Now THAT was an ugly game. But like you, I liked the final score.

Some big games today...,
Red River Rivalry has some good drama. Tough D being played by both teams.

Shocker to me - Gamecocks are leading Dawgs in the 4th quarter!!! Lots of ball still to be played, but I’m surprised UGA hasn’t been tougher at home.

Cautiously optimistic that THE Ohio State University Buckeyes have the defense to make some waves this year in the playoffs.

LSU has looked pretty strong, but the defense continues to impress for THE Buckeyes. I have no doubt they would absolutely roll Clemson or 'bama if they played next week. Not even competitive. The rankings are a joke at this point, based on who knows what. Certainly not who is the best team right now. In any event, I hope they don't peak too soon or suffer injuries, because they will need to get through Wisconsin and stay healthy in order to win it all. But they're coming...

Perfect. Wisconsin upset, they can upset THE Buckeyes next week and it's a perfect jinx for running my mouth via keyboard.
