I cannot confirm at this time, but heard a couple of disturbing rumors the other day. The first, is there will be no GREENHOUSE PARK venue/ events this year, due to insurances skyrocketing and they can't afford to continue. The other is the RICHLAND FIREHALL, which traditionally has started things off on Wed. night, has also cancelled ANY events or participation for this year. Declining population in the area, declining sponsors kicking in, expenses keep going up. Lets enjoy whats left while we can. There's still Thursday's Wheels & Wings event in Ebensburg (weather permitting, LOL).

Fran,

That's a shame about the reduction of events. I went on Thursday last year because of the rain forecast on Friday and Saturday and the QS&L gathering was the only worthwhile event. The town was dead. I usually go on Friday and Saturday and I hope that it is better.

Just saw an ad in an Altoona pamphlet for their 2019 Roundhouse Rally (railroad tie-in theme). They started this last year, and approached the Johnstown organizers about combining forces, and after the arrogant SOB's running Johnstown told them no thanks, they went ahead on their own and for the exact same days. Now that fate is coming back to smack Johnstown in the face, Altoona will reap the benefits, and I predict in 5 years will be THE dominant bike rally of central Pa.

Attendance and camping at Greenhouse Park has been declining greatly over the past five years or so. Mainly because of the weather. At least one vendor pulled out a day and a half early last year, and he was selling alcohol!

Weather isn't looking too good this year either. Doesn't matter since I can't make it this year anyway. Hope they can salvage what was a great event in the coming years. I sure do love that area...

It's looking like Sat., maybe Fri. evening, may be OK, but wait 5 minutes and things will change. Thursday pisses me off, 5 years in a row now they will have rain for Ebensburg's Wheels & Wings.

Well, the first day of Thunder, & Wheels & Wings, were except for a little break here & there, pretty much the same old rainy washout sh##.

We cancelled out at 8am today because tomorrow is looking pretty good (for now). I had 6-7 going on Friday with 5-6 tomorrow.

Mowed the yard this morning, then spur of the moment jumped on Ebony Eyes, rode to downtown Thunder, parked at the bottom of Main by the stadium, walked around for an hr. or so, ran into a couple people I know, bought my mandatory Tshirt, looked at a bunch of bikes of course, then headed back home for other festivities. If the bikes lined up on both sides of Main from bottom to top and the side streets are any indication, it is a successful rally.

Lots of bikes and people on Saturday. Beautiful day! Not very many Vendors though.

I did leave Johnstown at 3:00 and went to the Altoona event. I only did one of the 3 venues and it was interesting.

Breezewood Fall Fiollage Ride

Is there anything in the works for a Breezewood revival this Sept./ Oct.?
Fran, I was just talking to John tonight and he asked me if I heard anything about A Breezewood fall run. He can't load into the vtxoa. If you'd like to spearhead the even and work something out that would be great. I'm working full time again and don't have much free time right now so if you want to figure something out that would be great. I do need at least a two week notice to make sure I can get the time off so if you coordinate the event, let me know. I'm sure Earl aka Bullett would be interested also.

I'm in my 5th day with a kidney stone, but I can try to work on something. Maybe Bob Evans in Breezewood instead of the classic diner? First weekend of Oct. is def. out, but as far as I know the rest of the month weekends are good for me. I haven't ridden but a couple hundred miles this year, but I can handle this. I will start a new topic, Breezewood 2019, so look for it and check in, and remind anyone you know, since I don't have most of your fella's phone #'s.
