Since I claimed the last mark on the 2018 Hunt, I use all my unofficial authority to start for 2019.

As always, the point is to encourage us to get out and ride. More importantly, to have fun and we all know those two often go hand in hand.

So for rules:
A mark/tag is named and the first person to take a photo of their bike with that particular category gets to name the next mark/tag and it continues.
No old photos allowed. You must ride to the mark after it has been named and your bike needs to be in the picture. Obviously, you cannot claim your own mark.

Try to make the target something accessible to most riders, so not too obscure.

If a mark is unclaimed for a lengthy amount of time, the last finder can name a new category to keep things moving along. However, I am not going to stipulate any particular amount of time. We're a casual group.

And that's it. Get out and ride! And post pics to encourage others to do the same.

And now for the first mark of 2019:

Get a pic of your bike and anything new (less than a year old) to celebrate the new year.

It can be a new business, a residential home, a car lot with newer models, a relative with a newborn, etc. just something that indicates "newness"

Admittedly, this is posted on the last day of 2018, but since I'm not likely to be online on New Year's Day I'm posting now so that members can have the chance to start on Jan 1st. You should probably wait to post then, but hey..it's "unofficial" so if you want to jump the gun - have at it. I just didn't want to name something and have the thread end on it!

Here are (what rules?) that I copied from earlier Scavenger Hunts last year. Maybe this will help those that are new to this game.

Same rules as last year (were there any rules?)
Your bike (whatever you ride) in the pic
Marks that can be attained by all....
When you get the stated mark, you get to call the new mark

Yes, these rules are very stringent. LOL

Now get your bike in the picture for the WIN!!! .

He needs to ride around the block first. Or at least do a donut on that nice concrete floor. :wink2:

New, old and almost antique.
New has 1043 miles since 30nov18.

Flood water running over the top of Jackson Lake Dam from the recent rains.

If any of these fly, continue with something new. Your choice.

I believe he wanted to continue the "new" theme if I read that correctly? Certainly his post was a good example.

My son came home and made me..... not a hard arm twist.... go ride with him. I looked this morning before I left at the subject and totally forgot to snap a pic. I figured him with our bikes in the hi way construction zone qualified.....

nothing new about my memory

So is the "something new" still the first mark?

While tomorrow will be windy as hell (two cold fronts passing), Sunday will be gorgeously sunny and mild, I'm definitely venturing out. I can try to snap a picture somewhere.

Another picture of something new. I wanted to take my wife here for New Years Eve, luck for me it had not yet opened. The google street view is from July of 2018.

Next mark: Your bike with the name of a business that has a color in the name, but not a Red Box video machine.

Coincidentally, I understand that is an exact quote from the dance floor.

Since we recognized the reference I hope this says more about our questionable movie tastes than it does our bar preferences.
I know it does mine........
