many here tell us how they cant seem to stop buying goodies for their bikes.
one of my biggest weakenesses is music...
there was a couple new songs i wanted so i thought id browse thru itunes and ended up buying well over a hundred songs..
with well over 97,000 songs in my library one would think there could be no more that was needed...
music has always been a weakness even more that buying for my x,,,,guess i need to go to music-oholics

  I feel your pain, bro. Not quite to the extent that you have, but it's there! I left that particular addiction many years ago. But, I have a friend. . .

I know somebody who has a house with 4 full baths, the point is - it's a dang big house. He recently had to build an addition, a new room for his music collection, it's gotten that big. He's right up there with you

I think most people have passions other than riding. Photography, music, electronic kits, astronomy. There always something that piques my interest.

You know that with all those new songs you could really use one of the new iPhones.

Not knocking anyones personal phobics... but what do you do with 97k songs? I mean do you actually listen to most of them regularly, or is it just owning them thats the addiction? Just curious.

That's a good addiction to have tho - the last time I was in Larry's area (my friend) and he knew I was coming, he made me a compilation of music that "defined the 70s" in his opinion. 14 CDs worth. I'm still finding new songs on them!

Come to think of it, that would take about a half terabyte of storage. Not to mention back up. I guess with the price of hard drives today it's cheap enough.

* Say the average songs is 2 min * 97000 songs, 194000 minutes, /60 min. = 3233.333333 hours, /24 = 134.72 days of music listening 24hrs a day.

Someone check my math.

I do fishing. My lund cost more than all three of my bikes. The 115 yamaha 4 stroke cost $9000. That's 3 hundred more than my x. I have a lowrance color fishfinder w/ gps and waas in the closet I bought and it's never been out of the box. Electric downriggers that have never been on the boat. Downrigger rods that have never had line on them. Underwater camera for 3 years . Never been in the water. I have 5 ultralite poles with shimano symmetry reels and I only use one lure. A swedish pimple. I got a free  tacklebox full of rapala lures and goodies in 03 when I bought my boat and have never taken anything out of it. I have a little over 3000 songs but I only put about 1200 on the ipod cause they're my favorites. I don't know how you would use 97000 but look at my fishing stuff.

its a little of both .
i do try to listen to as many as i can but i do have many ive never had the chance to hear..
ive got over 3k in beatles alone,,,some that were never released due to the production peeps thinking they wouldnt make it big..
many are ones that were "lost" until recently..
i think its more of just having them just in case i were to want to listen to them.
my 60 gig ipod is always being added to and changed around but usually its limited to a 30 gig favorite folder.
many would think 97k is alot but having lost 4 160 hard drives in 2 months filled with music ,,it would have been much more..
now no hard drives for me,,,its all on dvd .

one other addiction of mine is collecting old comic books..
many of my friends used to laugh at me for wasting money but when i showed them i could sell them and have enough to buy a couple new vettes then they seemed to understand...
but these are all going to my kids when i pass on...
i did have to sell one for 3600 so my son could repair his car when he wrecked it,,,but that came from his part of the collection.only one i sold ,,,hopefully the last too.
my other hooby is my gto but thats been put on hld since ive had my bike.
biggest hibby of my whole life was girls ,,,but that costed me a wife and my current girlfiriend doesnt approve either

My other addiction is the guitar. The bad thing about it is that I cannot bring the guitar along on rides. It really sucks when we ride to rallys/events because once there, there is always a time when it would be great to be able to play a few tunes and attempt to sing for those gathered around. I tried the really small travel guitars, but with my fat ass fingers...it just didn't work. If anyone has a small watertight humidity controlled trailer, let me know.
