Well the reason i am asking is because of this...

http://sierravista.craigslist.org/mcd/3822419350.html

1997 American Eagle Maverick... All the research i have found is that its based out of California... And it runs from 1996 to early 2000s... it looks like a pretty nice bike but hey i like to know more about it before i drop money on a bar hopper...

(current plan... Cheap bar hopper and secondary bike, so i can biuld the X up for long haul riding... )

Some things I found

I found this article from 2009:

http://www.allaboutbikes.com/motorcycle-news/industry-news/176-american-eagle

I found this:
http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=658737

And this:
http://wikibin.org/articles/american-eagle-manufacturing-company.html

Appears the company is now defunct due to legal BS and they were at one time bought by Bad Toys:

Bad Toys Holdings Inc.
2046 West Stone Drive
Kingsport, Tennessee 37660
USA

Tel: (423) 230-0194

You may be able to contact Bad Toys and get more info on the bike in regard to original make specs.

The bottom line is the bike is a custom build (not a Harley) and the engine is an S&S. I've read a lot of good about the S&S engine. Here's an example:

http://www.harley-davidsonforums.com/forums/engine/21664-s-s-vs-revtech-vs-ultima.html

I'm wondering why the piston rings were recently replaced? For the price, seems too good to be true so I'm skeptical. . .

Good luck.

I have a 1979 American eagle, 96 in S&S. I picked it up in Vegas 5 years ago with a little over 10,000 miles on it and have good service and a lot of fun. it handles a little heavy in the front at a stop and very slow speeds, you just have to muscle it - no problem. I noticed that you can not dive hard over in the corners with out dragging the front pegs and brake lever - you just have to drag your heel to find the sweet spot. I probably paid a little to much for it 11,500 - that's Vegas for you ----
I have also had no luck on finding info on the early American Eagle models
