My dad recently gave me his 2007 Honda VTX 1300C with 2,960 miles on it. The bike has been garage kept and besides replacing a few hoses, seals, air filter, battery and spark plugs, the bike cranks and runs just as it did when he last parked it. The tires are original and with them being 16 years old, I figured it's better safe than sorry to ride them. They don't show any signs of dry rot and still had a good amount of air in them. My question would be, what's the best tire to go with? Stick with Dunlop or is there a better choice?

Smart decision to get new tires, especially since there are much better choices for tires than stock. What tires has been asked many times over the years, and I think I can speak for most in response by recommending Metzeler ME888 Marathon as a great choice with lots of positive user review here (by me too). A second very popular choice is AVON.
