Ok I am new here and have been searching the boards for the answer and cant seem to find all the info I need. I know this has been asked 9 million times so I apoligize.

What is the biggest rear tire I can put on a 2006 VTX1300C? Can I use the stock rim with the new tire? And last but not least where do I start to find the parts I will need. Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Hey there... I am new here too. Been searching on here for your same question and here is what I have found. If you want to go over a 180 rear tire I would suggest doing the Foots modification.

Foots (a member here) replaces your rear wheel, rotor and caliper (pretty sure) with OEM 1800 ones. This way you can run around a fat 200 tire on the rear. All parts bolt right on so you can do it yourself. Check the classifieds here or Ebay for the parts you need if you want to do that.

A few people here have went ahead and placed a 200 series tire on a 1300 stock rear rim and not only does it not sound too safe, it does not really affect the width of the tire much since your 1300 stock rear is so narrow (it squeezes the sidewalls together so much it "raises" the height of the tire instead of "widening" it.

Myself, I have a Metzeler 180/70 15 on the way for my rear with a stock size front. It may go slighly fatter than stock so we will see.

it looks pinched and also there is a major hazard some after market exhaust brackets may rub side wall. not so much the bracket it's the nut that the bracket comes with that rubs

And don't ask how i know!

What's the widest if you go with the wide tire kit?
Can you go wider than 240?
If yes any info would be appreciated. :?:
I did the 240 mod on mine and I modified my own swingarm. If I tried to put a 250 on it, it would rub my swingarm and I wouldn't have wanted to take any more out of the swingarm than I did (obviously I welded in extra support). You'd have to go with a custom swingarm of some sort. I think I seen someone on here that has a pretty radical X and it has a 280 on it, I think. Of coarse if you go bigger than 240, you'd have to probably do some modifying of the frame in the area where the fender struts mount to the frame. Hope that made sense.
